This is a list of applications made to Hertfordshire County Council or neighbouring authorities that could be the subject of an application to the Secretary of State for a direction that the Council determine the application within a set period of time. (It is not a full list of all applications that remain to be processed.)
Generally, we would make no more than 6 requests for a direction each year, commensurate with the number of applications that ought to be possible with the staffing level present within the council.
The usual recommendation is that applications are made for routes that are currently closed to riders physically, or are upgrades of footpaths (look for the blue star).
Click the text page symbol against a path to be taken to that path's page. There, you can click on the plan showing the route to be taken to the right point on the HCC web map of rights of way, and find out other information where available. The circled number is the County Council's priority score. Generally, ones above 20 are likely to be dealt with anyway without a direction.
The reference number to use for any path is the number starting 'EC'.
