Map showing Pirton 5
Annotated map reproduced courtesy of Googlemaps.
This route runs Westmill Lane, close to Pirton 28 BW and Ickleford 19 BW, generally south east wards over the River Oughton to Hitchin Town 1 restricted byway. It continues as a restricted byway to join an unsurfaced unclassified county road that leads to Burford Way, Hitchin.

We need a volunteer to photograph this route for this year's Access and Riding Rights of Way Survey. It's easy - just take photographs (safely) when you use the path. Find out more!

BHS As part of the British Horse Society's work to record paths before Path Extinguishment Day, it was spotted that part of this route is recorded as a footpath and part is unrecorded. The historical evidence showed a continuous route, so an application was made in 2013 to record the whole route correctly.
