The launch of the Ride UK project in 2000 by the British Horse Society (BHS) sought to create a network of riding routes across the United Kingdom. In Hertsmere, the BHS with partner groups like the Patchetts Green Riding Club, and (since 2003) the Patchetts Green Bridleways Trust, developed eight Community Circuits.
The Aldenham Parish Ride is a 16 mile route around the Parish of Aldenham, with slight deviations into neighbouring parishes. Part of the ride is coincident with the line of the H25 London Orbital Bridleroute. Naturally, the sides of the circuit are designed also to be the sides of neighbouring parishes' routes. Please take care on the remaining sections of roadwork. If we could upgrade Aldenham 18 footpath to bridleway, we could split the 16 mile Aldenham Parish Ride into two shorter rides: Aldenham East and Aldenham West.
