The route starts from Stony Hills (public road) and continues generally eastwards then southwards to end on Bengeo Rural 22 byway. Legal History 1843: Most of Bengeo Rural 2 is shown on the Bengeo tithe map coloured ochre and with no apportionment. 2 Feb 1953: Bengeo Rural 2 was recorded as a bridleway on the original definitive map and statement. DM sheet DM2-?? (Herts 29 NE).

Definitive Statement (4 Dec 2015) Path: [Bengeo Rural] 2.  Recorded Status: Bridleway.  Definitive Map sheet: 45 Commences at junction with county road at parish boundary N of Upper Stoneyhills Wood thence E skirting N boundary of Wood thence SE to junction with FP9 thence S past Bonnycroft Wood to junction with BOAT 22 at TL 3254 1601. Maintainability This route is maintainable at the public expense because it was a footpath or bridleway existing before 30 Apr 1959.
