As part of the Patchetts Green Bridleways Trust's and the British Horse Society's work to record paths before Path Extinguishment Day, it was spotted that Tewin 3 was omitted from the definitive map in error at one of the revisions. Its omission does not remove the public rights on the route. The historical evidence showed the route to be an old road, so an application was made in 2024 to record it as part restricted byway and part bridleway, according to the evidence.

Legal History 2 Feb 1953: The route was recorded as CRB (Carriage Road used as a Bridleway) on the original definitive map and statement. DM sheet DM2-22 (Herts 29 SW). 31 Dec 1977: The route was shown as a bridleway on the special review draft map and statement. DM sheet SR-58. 1 Jun 1991: The route was shown as a bridleway on the 1991 consolidated definitive statement but was missing from the map.
