This way starts on Charlton Road and heads generally eastwards and north-eastwards to Tatmorehills Lane near its junction with Maydencroft Lane. Legal History 1847: Part of Preston 8 (along the parish boundary) was shown on the St Ippollitts tithe map as not subject to an apportionment. 1 Nov 1953: Preston 8 and Ippollitts 1 were recorded as footpath on the original definitive map and statement. DM sheet DM4-31 (Herts 12 NW).

Definitive Statement (4 Dec 2015) Path: [Ippollitts] 1.  Status: Bridleway.  Definitive Map sheet: 20 Commences from Tatmorehills Lane approx. 75 yards S of its junction with Maydencroft Lane thence SW along parish boundary and into Preston Parish N of Target Plantation (Scheduled as BR8 Preston) Path: [Preston] 8.  Status: Bridleway.  Definitive Map sheet: 20 Commences from Offley Holes - Charlton Road approx. 630 yards S of northern parish boundary thence E along northern tip of Target Plantation to parish boundary thence NE along same to join Tatmorehills Lane S of its junction with Mayden-croft Lane.
