At the time of the BHS 2023 Access Survey (4 Feb 23), there was one gate across the path with a gap to the side. The statutory signposting at each end was missing. 20 Jun 1953: This route was recorded as part of Hemel Hempstead 72, as CRF (Carriage Road used as a Footpath) on the original definitive map and statement. DM sheet DM3-21 (TL00NE, Herts 33 SE).
31 Dec 1977: The route was shown as a byway on the special review draft map and statement. DM sheet SR-66 (TL00NE).
13 Oct 2000: The Hertfordshire County Council (A41 Berkhamsted and Kings Langley Bypasses) Legal Event Modification Order 2000 (part 12) recorded the downgrade to bridleway on this route caused by the A41 works orders.
1 Nov 2000: This route was recorded as Hemel Hempstead 139 bridleway on the consolidated definitive map and statement. DM sheet 66 (TL00NE).
5 Feb 2023: Missing bridleway signpost reports to HCC, references 401003222667, 401003222668.

Path: [Hemel Hempstead] 139. Status: Bridleway Definitive Map sheet: 66
Commences at Chipperfield Road (at TL 0529 0503) thence NW for approx 75m (to TL 0523 0507) thence SW for approx. 35m to join Featherbed Lane where it crosses the A41 (at TL 0519 0505).
Limitations: None
The junction with Manorville Road could usefully be noted.
