Great Gaddesden 50 runs from Cupid Green Lane to Great Gaddesden 51 bridleway. Great Gaddesden 51 runs from Great Gaddesden 52 restricted byway to a junction with bridleway 50 then to Great Gaddesden 47 bridleway. A volunteer has photographed this route for this year's Access and Riding Rights of Way Survey, and the page will be updated shortly. Find out more! At the time of the BHS 2022 Access Survey (9 Jan 22), there were two gates across Great Gaddesden 50. Both opened easily. The fingerpost at the western end was missing its finger and was damaged. At the eastern end there was a waymark arrow. The path was easy to follow.

Legal History 20 Jun 1953: Great Gaddesden 50 was shown as a bridleway on the original definitive map and statement. DM sheet DM3-13. 20 Jun 1953: Great Gaddesden 51 was shown as part footpath and part bridleway on the original definitive map and statement. DM sheet DM3-13. There is a diversion of both paths to avoid Lovett's End at some point between 1953 and 1977. 23 Jun 1978: The Dacorum District Council (Bridleway No 50 - Great Gaddesden) Public Path Diversion Order 1978 (confirmed 5 Dec 1979) created a bridleway. 2 May 1980: London Gazette announcement of confirmation of the order. 31 Dec 1977: Great Gaddesden 50 was shown as a bridleway and Great Gaddesden 51 was shown as part bridleway and part footpath, all on their new alignment, on the special review draft map and statement. DM sheet SR-54. Great Gaddesden 50 fell outside the landholding. 4 Mar 2014: Great Gaddesden 51 was admitted as part bridleway and part footpath in the s.31(6) Highways Act 1980 deposit made by the landowner to Hertfordshire County Council. Great Gaddesden 50 fell outside the landholding. 15 Jan 2022: Missing sign at junction of Great Gaddesden 50 with Cupid Green Lane reported to the county council. Fault reference 401002469086.

Path: [Great Gaddesden] 51.  Status: Bridleway/Footpath.  Definitive Map sheet: 54 Commences as a FP at junction with county road at Lovetts End thence NW to junction with Restricted Byway 52. Continues as BR NW past BR50 to junction with BR47.
