Legal History
1839: Ardeley 53 and Great Munden 67 were shown on the Ardeley tithe map as not subject to an apportionment.
2 Feb 1953: Ardeley 53 and Great Munden 67 were not recorded on the original definitive map and statement. DM sheet DM1-09 (H13SE).
20 Jan 2012: The Hertfordshire County Council (Ardeley 3, 52 and 53, Great Munden 65, 66 and 67 and Walkern 43) Modification Order 2012 (confirmed 21 February 2017) recorded this route on the definitive map and statement as a bridleway. Planning Inspectorate reference FPS/M1900/7/81.

Path: [Parish] 53. Status: Bridleway. Definitive Map sheet: 23 and 31
Commences at parish boundary and junction with Ardeley BR 52 at TL 3358 2539 and continues N along the Old Bourne for approx. 205m to parish boundary at TL 3362 2559, then continues NE and NW along Old Bourne parallel to Great Munden BR 67 fr approx. 780m to junction with Ardeley FP 18 at TL 3355 2632, then continues NW and NE along the Old Bourne for approx. 345m to junction with Great Munden BOAT 59 (Back Lane) at TL 3350 2664.
Width: Varies between 1m and 24m being the Ardeley moiety of the route, as shown shaded grey on Parts 4 and 5 of the Order Plan attached to the Hertfordshire County Council (Ardeley 3, 52 and 53, Great Munden 65, 66 and 67 and Walkern 43) Modification Order 2012.
