Legal History 2 Feb 1953: Ardeley 13 was recorded as a footpath on the original definitive map and statement. DM sheets DM1-08 (H13SW) and DM1-09 (H13SE). 31 Dec 1977: Ardeley 13 was shown as a byway open to all traffic on the special review draft map and statement. DM sheet SR-23 (TL32NW). 2009: The Hertfordshire County Council (Ardeley 13) Modification Order 2009 proposed to downgrade the route from Byway to Footpath. There were objections, and on 25 Jan 2012, the Inspector declined to confirm the order. Definitive Statement (4 Dec 2015) Path: [Ardeley] 13.  Status: Byway Open to All Traffic.  Definitive Map sheet: 23 Commences at junction with Pigsfoot Lane and Long Lane S of Pigsfoot Spring thence skirting SW boundary of Pigsfoot Spring thence to junction with Long Lane opposite BR9. Statement could usefully mention that Pigsfoot Lane is Ardeley 8 Byway, and Long Lane is Ardeley 4 byway.
